February 8 was a great night of celebrating our volunteers and athletes as our Equipment Volunteer, Gary Crowe (who joined us in 2014) was the KOs second team volunteer in 3 years to receive the City of Kelowna’s Community Sport Hero Award. As friends and supporters of the KOs filled the front row of the Mary Irwin Theatre at Royal Centre for the Arts, we enjoyed a great presentation organized by Pacific Sport Okanagan. Congrats Gary ! After the awards, we all headed to Boston Pizza to celebrate our own volunteers and our 5th Anniversary of Team KOs.
From our early beginnings of 4 athletes and myself as the only volunteer, we have come a long long way and now host practices with 12-15+ participants and 3-5 volunteers. This years’ 6th Okanagan hosted tournament will be at Okanagan Mission School on South Gordon Drive, April 22 & 23rd…stay tuned for game times !
As part of Canada’s 150 Year Celebration, we are welcoming all of you to join us at practices. Come try our sport and invite your friends to form a team to knock the socks off the KOs ! We have a bunch of celebratory stickers, water bottles, and stuff to give away !!
